Betty & Phil
Welcome you to the Lake
Lake side view facing Smith Mountain
This interesting venture started in 2001, when Betty and I decided to plan our retirement. We decided that we preferred lake property above all options. We drew a 4hr driving radius around Washington and identified the lakes. A weekend trip to Smith Mountain Lake revealed a mystifying calm and beauty that over took us. Needless to say we looked no further. The story starts with driving to a very wooded and apparently steep lot. We had decided to move on without getting out of the car. I sensed a mystifying aura to the property and we decided to walk down to the water. Neither mountain nor water could be seen from the road. When we reached the water a silence overcame us all as we stared into the majestic peak of Smith Mountain. The stage was set and the odyssey began.
